Redesigned website expands online services

Prague, April 25, 2014 - In February, the National Library of Technology (NTK) launched its redesigned website. Academics, students, and the general public now have an easier access to the library's information and resources, with the most crucial information available with one click.

The new web, designed with an eye to the needs of all of our patrons, facilitates provides quick and easy access to services and support. Our comprehensive search, collections and databases have been made more prominent, and browsing more intuitive. Web content is now compatible with mobile devices.

Concurrently, the library introduced the iPhone application TECH NTK which allows patrons to check the availability of library materials, save catalog records, send them by email, and see an overview of their account. With TECH NTK, you can also see what you have checked out and see when your library registration expires. It's available for free at the AppStore; an Android version is in progress.

Our web team is currently working on further enhancement of functionality and user experience, including:
- Adding more options to the new books feature
- Extending utility and user-friendliness of the eResources list
- Expanding current/adding additional subject expert guides and supplementary instructional materials
- Facilitating accessible access for all patrons, including those using screen readers
