PIDfest Conference: Call for Proposals

PIDfest is a three-day international summit of talks, activities and workshops focusing on how persistent identifiers (PIDs) can deliver world-class research infrastructure. PIDfest will take place on 11-13 June 2024 in Prague, Czech Republic. The goal is to bring together PID stakeholders from the international community to discuss and solve real world infrastructure challenges in order to accelerate research and innovation. Please note that all speakers must be able to attend PIDfest 2024 in person.

We are now inviting proposals for the concurrent sessions (30 or 60 minutes) organized by community members. Sessions will be a mix of presentations and panel discussions covering the following PID topics:

  • PIDs 101/PID basics
  • Case studies/lessons learned both technical and social (both successes and failures)
  • PID strategies and policies (general)
  • National PID strategies
  • Novel uses of PIDs and emerging PIDs
  • Persistence and sustainability of PIDs
  • Technical applications of PIDs
  • PID value propositions
  • PIDs at scale (in research workflows and infrastructure globally)
  • PID-enabled connections
  • Beyond PIDs - metadata and schema
  • And more...

Please note that all speakers must be able to attend PIDfest 2024 in person.

If you would like to propose a session, please complete and submit this form by 26 February 2024, 5 PM CEST - one form for each session you are proposing. All proposals will be anonymized and reviewed by the PIDfest Program Committee, and you will be informed of our decision by 15 March 2024.

Please note that we strongly encourage and welcome proposals that encompass and reflect a range of perspectives, eg, by profession (librarian, researcher, technologist); location (Global South - Latin America, Africa, etc); career stage (early, middle, late); gender; etc. Demographically diverse sessions will be prioritized.
