 Every mentee is an individual, and mentors should remember that “one-size-fits-all” approaches may not be flexible enough for encouraging mentees to foster self-management/independence skills. The following resources may provide assistance in this area. Additionally, mentors may craft mentoring statements in order to make expectations clear to mentees so that they can work independently towards common mentor/mentee goals.
