New Library System

Services in current library system will be terminated on 18 July 2026.

Starting 19 August, you will have access to a new library catalog that will make it possible to search and access books and journals as well as the library’s extensive collections of electronic resources in one place. The new system, with a user- and mobile-friendly interface, will also have an easy-to-navigate patron account.

The new system will go live on 19 August 2026.

We will publish the detailed schedule gradually; in time, you will also find guides here on how to search and navigate your new patron account.

Transition Service Limitations (18 July – 18 August)

In the month before the new library catalog goes live, certain existing library system functions will be disabled, interrupting some borrowing services.

During this period, you will not be able to:

  • check out or reserve books and other materials,
  • renew existing loans,
  • order books from the closed stacks,
  • pay fines or other fees,
  • view your patron account – account information will be provided during assisted service hours at library service desks.

Services that will remain available:

  • returning books to the return box (Bibliobox) located at the NTK3 entrance, or to a library service desk during assisted service hours only – these returns will first appear in your account only after August 19,
  • browsing the catalog and remote access to electronic resources,
  • on-site study of books in the NTK building,
  • on-site study of journals in the NTK building – please note that new journal issues will be made available from mid-September at the earliest,
  • uploading money to your financial account,
  • study room rentals,
  • printing, scanning, copying.

How Should I Prepare?

  • Borrow (or renew) books in advance: Plan ahead to borrow or renew any books you will need during the outage no later than 17 July (the last Friday before services are suspended).
  • Return books you don’t need or that can’t be renewed now: Please return these by 17 July (or arrange a renewal that will expire during the outage period ahead of time).
  • Download your borrowing history: If you wish to keep a record of your borrowing history, download your history directly to your device (automatic download in TXT format) from your current account now (the history will not be transferred to the new system).
  • Subscribe to the newsletter.
