Workshop is free of charge and you do not need to be registered with the library. We will send you detailed information by email after the registration.
The workshop will be conducted in person in room PC03 at the NTK building.
Have you invested significant time and effort in generating your research data and now wish to make it accessible to others? Are you required to publish your data to meet funder or journal rules? Do you know how to choose a suitable repository, prepare your dataset, and ensure proper publication? If not, this introductory workshop is designed for you.
This in-person workshop is intended for researchers who plan to publish their research data. While the theoretical part is general and can be applied to other repositories, the practical part of this workshop is intended for (future) users of the Zenodo repository.
What topics will be covered?
The theoretical part of the workshop will cover the basics of what attributes make a repository trustworthy and how to select the right repository, including a discussion over the general-purpose vs. subject-specific repositories. Furthermore, we’ll go over basic good practices of dataset preparation, such as naming conventions, README files, and preferred formats. In the practical part, participants will have the opportunity to prepare their own dataset deposit and troubleshoot the process of dataset submission to Zenodo – a trusted and free-of-charge repository operated by CERN.
